Anti Ricochet Lining Products

The strength of our services is founded on our proprietary line of anti-ricochet ballistic protection materials designed by us, manufactured to our specification and have been tested for compliance with relevant range safety regulations.

SearlsTM

Starburst has developed its own line of SearlsTM anti-ricochet panels. SearlsTM panels are fire-retardant, non-toxic, odorless, and durable. Subject to the nature of the ammunition and the substrate used, our SearlsTM Starboard anti-ricochet panels are estimated to be capable of absorbing up to 4,000 rounds per square meter, and our SearlsTM shredded rubber panels and pavers are estimated to be capable of absorbing up to 10,000 rounds per square meter.

SearlsTM Anti-Ricochet Shredded Rubber Panels

SearlsTM proprietary anti-ricochet shredded rubber panels have been demonstrated to be capable of preventing ricochets from bullets or shards fired by a wide range of weapons (such as pistols, revolvers, carbines, SMGs and rifles) of different calibres (such as 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 9mm) and are fitted directly onto the walls, floors or ceilings of the training facilities, to provide a fire-retardant and non-slip surface

Starboard Anti-Ricochet Panels

We fabricate and install anti-ricochet panels made from a fully recyclable cellulose plastic material which we have designated as "Starboard". It allows for a flat-even surface which is easily cleaned by sweeping, vacuuming or by washing. When used as anti-ricochet flooring, these panels can be coated with resinous polyurethane compounds to provide a seamless surface.

SearlsTM Interlocking Rubber Pavers

Starburst’s proprietary rubber pavers using recycled shredded rubber, which are fire-retardant, non-toxic, odourless and have excellent cushioning, thermal insulating and acoustic and vibration dampening properties.

SearlsTM Reconfigurable, Movable, Multi-Directional Bullet-Resistant Partition Systems

The SearlsTM partition systems are a reconfigurable and movable ballistic partition system for use in close quarters training partition ranges that have been tested for compliance with relevant range safety regulations.

Subject to the nature of the ammunition and the substrate used, they can absorb and contain splash-back of projectiles of calibers up to 7.62. They come with retractable bottom stoppers to keep spent ammunition within. They can be outfitted with your choice of anti-ricochet panels.

Ballistic-Absorbing Concrete

Starburst also uses a ballistic-absorbing concrete developed by Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) Researchers at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Centre.

This ballistic-absorbing concrete has been demonstrated to prevent bullets from ricocheting more than 25 degrees from the plane of the material, making for safe room-clearing training. The material is also non-flammable, making it suitable for firearms-training (including the use of pyrotechnics and hand grenades).

Ballistic-absorbing concrete is primarily used to line external walls at our firearms-training facilities.
